Setup the Eventbrite Integration

Requirements

Both the Marketing features, and the Events Management App must be enabled for your Oncord account before you can enable the Eventbrite integration. Look for the "Marketing" heading in the left sidebar of your Oncord Dashboard, in addition to the "Events" link to determine whether the features are enabled.

If you need to enable the Marketing Features, please follow the tutorial here:
Changing Your Oncord Plan.

If you need to enable the Events Management App, please follow the tutorial here:
How to Enable the Events Management App
.

Logging in to your Eventbrite account before enabling the Oncord integration will also make the below steps easier. If you don't already have an Eventbrite account, you can sign up for one on the Eventbrite website.

What Data is Synchronised?

The Eventbrite integration allows you to sync events you've created within Oncord, to Eventbrite. When attendees are added to an event within Eventbrite, they're also added to the event within Oncord.

The Eventbrite integration works by synchronising the following information:

From Oncord

From Eventbrite

Events
  • Newly created events can be pushed into Eventbrite.
  • Events can link to existing events in Eventbrite.
  • Changes to an event linked to Eventbrite can be pushed from Oncord, except for events marked as originating in Eventbrite.
  • Deleting an event in Oncord does not automatically delete it in Eventbrite. Use Delete Event in Eventbrite from the Eventbrite menu when you want to remove the remote event.
Events
  • An Eventbrite event can create an Oncord event when imported if no matching event is found.
  • Importing an existing event does not generally overwrite its Oncord details. Linked ticket prices can update, and attendees are imported.
  • Deleting an event will not remove it from Oncord.

Attendees
  • Adding new attendees will not update in Eventbrite.
  • Changes to attendees will not update in Eventbrite.
  • Checking in an attendee will not update in Eventbrite.
  • Deleting an attendee will not update in Eventbrite.
Attendees
  • Adding new attendees will also update in Oncord.
  • Imports update attendance and check-in details for returned attendees. Existing contact names and email details are not generally overwritten.
  • Checking in an attendee will also update in Oncord.
  • Removing an attendee in Eventbrite does not automatically remove their Oncord attendee record. Review removals in both systems.

Event Details

When an Eventbrite event is first imported, Oncord creates its title, description, start and end times, time zone, capacity and invitation setting. Later imports do not generally replace these details on an existing Oncord event. Check both systems when changing event details.

The linked ticket price can update from Eventbrite. Attendee imports update attendance and check-in information, but do not remove attendees who are no longer returned by Eventbrite.

When Does a Sync Happen?

You can choose to enable or disable automatic synchronisation within the Eventbrite integration configuration page (Dashboard > Settings > Third Party Integrations).

With automatic sync enabled, changes in Oncord normally queue a sync with Eventbrite about two minutes later. Timing can vary, and a sync already queued for an earlier time is not delayed by later changes.

When there are no changes in Oncord, background sync checks Eventbrite approximately every 12 hours. You can also start a sync manually from Settings > Apps.

Enable The Eventbrite Integration

To enable the Eventbrite integration:

Navigate to Dashboard > Settings.

Select the "Third Party Integrations" page.

Click the "Enable Integration" button in the Eventbrite integration box.

Follow the steps to allow Oncord to access your Eventbrite account.

Manually Push the New Event into Eventbrite

To manually push the new event into Eventbrite:

Navigate to Dashboard > Events > New Event to create a new event.
Fill out the event details and settings based on your needs.
Once a new event has been created, click the three-dot button next to the Eventbrite icon.
Click the "Create Event in Eventbrite" option in the revealed menu.
You will see a success notification at the top-right of the page once the new event has been created in Eventbrite.

Link to Existing Event in Eventbrite

You can also link an event in Oncord to an existing event in Eventbrite, to do this:

Navigate to Dashboard > Events
Click the event you want to edit or create a new event.
Click the three-dot button next to the Eventbrite icon.
Click the "Link to Existing Event in Eventbrite" option in the revealed menu.
Select the existing event you want to link to in the pop-up window.
Click the "Link Event" button.

Other Options

Once an event in Oncord has been linked to an event in Eventbrite, then a list of options is provided for you to manage how to synchronise the event data.

To access the options:
Navigate to Dashboard > Events
Click the event which has been linked to Eventbrite.
Click the three-dot button next to the Eventbrite icon.

  • Import Event Details from Eventbrite: Run the import manually. For an existing Oncord event, this refreshes attendees and may update its linked ticket price; it does not generally replace the event’s title, dates or description.

  • Export Event Details to Eventbrite: Click this option to manually export event details from Oncord to Eventbrite after you've edited the event in Oncord.

  • Import Event Attendees from Eventbrite: Import returned attendees and refresh their attendance and check-in information. Removed Eventbrite attendees are not automatically deleted from Oncord.

  • Delete Event in Eventbrite: Click this option to manually delete the linked event in Eventbrite.
