Setting Up OpenAI Ads Manager
ChatGPT is one of the most widely used AI assistants, and people often use it the way they would a search engine: asking questions, comparing options and looking for recommendations before they buy. Businesses can now reach those people through ads shown inside ChatGPT.
OpenAI Ads Manager is where those campaigns are created and managed. You can promote products and services, drive traffic to your website, and track the conversions that follow.
To run ads effectively, OpenAI requires a tracking script called the OpenAI Ads Pixel to be installed on your Oncord website. The pixel tracks visitor activity and conversion events such as page views, form submissions, and purchases.
There are two common methods for installing the OpenAI Ads Pixel on an Oncord website:
- Method one: Add the OpenAI Ads Pixel to your Website Design.
- Method two: Install the OpenAI Ads Pixel through Google Tag Manager (GTM).
To measure order values, follow the Google Tag Manager ecommerce guide. It reads the purchase event Oncord adds to the page’s data layer. Custom JavaScript can also read this data, but the manual pixel-installation guide does not configure ecommerce tracking.
Register an OpenAI Ads Manager Account
- Go to OpenAI Ads Manager.
- Follow the prompts to create and configure your account.
Note: Availability varies by country. If self-service access has not reached your location yet, you can still register and OpenAI will let you know when it does.
