Changes
The Changes page shows a history of updates made across your Oncord account. This includes items that were created, modified, or deleted.
If something was removed by mistake such as a page, product, contact, or invoice (sale), you can locate the change and restore the previous version.
Before You Begin
- You need administrator access to view the Changes page.
Access the Changes History
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Changes.
This page lists all system changes from most recent to oldest.
Each entry shows:
- Date – when the change occurred
- Change – what action happened (created, modified, deleted)
- Entity – the item affected
- Administrator – who made the change
You can then use the filters at the top of the page to locate specific updates.
- Changed by – view changes made by a specific administrator or anyone.
- Component – view changes related to a specific system area.
Available components include:
View the History of a Selection
You can also open this history from inside an editor, filtered to a single block of content or code. This is useful when a page or template has a long history and you need the one change that affected a particular paragraph, image, or style rule.
- Open the page, design, email, or record you want to inspect.
- Select the content or code you want to trace.
- Right-click the selection, then click Change History for Selection.
The Changes window opens showing only the versions where that content was added, removed, or rewritten. Click Show all changes to clear the filter, or restore a version as described below.
The menu item reads Change History for Element when you select a single image, card, or section, and Change
History when
nothing is selected. It appears in the page, design, and email editors, and in the HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
and PHP tabs of the source editors.
Restore a Previous Version
You can restore an earlier version of an item if needed.
For example, if you accidentally delete a page, product, contact, or invoice, you can restore it from the change history.
Steps:
- Use the filters to find the change you want to restore.
- Click the change entry.
- The system shows the full history of that item on the left.
- Select the version you want to restore.
On the right, you will see a comparison between versions.
Changed sections are highlighted so you can review what was modified.
- Confirm the correct version.
- Click Restore (or Undo) in the top-right corner.
The system will revert the item to that version.
Restore Deleted Media Files and Folders
Deleted Media is a recycle bin for media removed from your account. Files and folders deleted through the media manager are held here, along with attached media removed when deleting items such as pages or products.
Deleted media is removed from its public location, so images and download links that use it may stop working. The bin keeps the media available for recovery until you restore it or permanently delete it.
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Changes.
- Click View Deleted Media.
- Find the file or folder you want to recover. Each row shows when it was deleted, its name and original location, whether it is a file or folder, its size, and who deleted it.
- Click Restore beside the item, then confirm.
The item returns to its original location and is removed from the bin. Restoring a folder also restores the files held inside it.
If the Original Location Is Already in Use
Oncord will not overwrite an existing file or folder. If a restore is refused because something already exists at the original location, review that item in Settings > Media. Keep a copy if needed, then rename or move it before trying the restore again. This also applies when the existing folder is empty.
Restoring Media or Restoring a Deleted Page
Restore in Deleted Media recovers the files or folder only. To recover a deleted page, product or other record, use its change history as described above. Undoing a deletion also attempts to restore its attached media if it is still in the bin. If Oncord reports that the record was restored but its media could not be moved back, open View Deleted Media and resolve the location conflict before restoring the media.
Media that has been permanently deleted from the bin cannot be recovered through Deleted Media or by undoing the record's deletion.
Permanently Delete Media
- To remove one item permanently, click Delete beside it and confirm.
- To remove every item permanently, click Empty bin and confirm.
These actions cannot be undone. Review the items first and keep a separate copy of anything you may need later.
Deleted Media and Storage Usage
Media in the bin still uses your account's storage. It is held privately and contributes to File System storage rather than the active Media category. Deleting a file from the media manager does not remove the storage used by its retained original.
To free that space, permanently delete the unwanted item from Deleted Media, or empty the bin after reviewing its contents. Storage statistics are updated daily, so the displayed usage may not fall immediately.
See Managing Media Files: Reducing File System Storage for the cleanup steps.
Example: Retrieve a Deleted Invoice
If an invoice (sale record) was deleted:
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Changes.
- Set the Component filter to Commerce – Sales.
- Locate the Deleted Sale / Invoice entry.
- Click the change.
- Select the version of deletion.
- Click Undo Delete.
The invoice will be restored.
